1. Patience (and lots of it ) Rome wasn't built in a day etc etc, 2. Determination It is not going to happen overnight but remaining determined when the chips are down will stand you in good stead in the long run. 3. Creativity If you are marketing the "same old, same old" then gaining exposure in a competitive field will be a lot more difficult than gaining exposure with a unique product /service. 4. Adaptability The marketplace changes on an ongoing basis so having the ability to adapt with it, in order to choose a product/service to market, is key. The SEO techniques of yesteryear are no longer guaranteed to get you a high ranking. 5. Intelligence Ok so you don't need to be Albert Einstein but try to be aware of "persuasive words that sell" and use common sense regarding appropriate places to seek links. I agree with haveseo that money is one more thing required to be successful. But I feel you don't need so much of money to start in the first place. Right action at the right time is necessary to be successful
