Well good traffic wouldn't come from article directories and website directories. Social Networks and Social Bookmarking sites will gain you more traffic than directories.
Create something that everyone's dying to have a look at, whether it be a limited time offer, a free piece of info/resource etc.
This is what i am struggling with also, since my site launched i have not been able to get more than 50 page views per day despite doing submissions, facebook, twitter etc etc
As we all know FREE quality target is the best one! Have you tried Facebook or Twitter? I am getting excellent quality traffic to my website and product using Facebook and Twitter. For example: if you use Twitter you can schedule tweets in different period of the days. I mean times which you know that your website has more number of traffic. If you are using Host Gator or other host provider you can check the statistics. You can also check your website traffic using Google analytics. It really helps to see from where the traffic is coming from. Another way of getting traffic is to comment of YouTube videos. Here is a ninja Technique: Instead of using writen comments use videos.
