Seo is the best and natural way to get visitor on web site. In general visitor will come in there ways like through search engine, reference, direct. If you need a visitor from search engine, you might be concentrate on seo.

 

For getting traffic best option is Social Media Optimization. Social Bookmarking is also good option.

Good, long term, SEO is hard to do yourself if you are new and needs quite a few skills. I recommend going w/ SMO but working on educating yourself on SEO. Do not pay an SEO company to "get you first page rankings" for your site. You can do it better yourself and my experience is that they won't optimize you in a way that will be long term or of any real residual benefit to you.
