How come when I add an XML sitemap to my Vbulletin Forum it gets rejected?

My forum posts never get indexed in google and I tried to add the sitemap so I can include it in my google webmaster tools and when I submit it I check later and it has a red X saying it was basically rejected.

I need to get my forum sitemap to work so I can get traffic to my forum but I have no clue how, does anyone know how to install the code properly?

    thanks

vBulletin 4, its already built-in so you would just need to create a folder and chmod it to 777.

vBulletin 3, use the vBSEO Sitemap Generator or something.

Don't assume that you will get more indexed and get more traffic just because you get the sitemap to work.

AdminCP > Settings > Options > XML Sitemap

    /home/name/public_html/forum/sitemap

    OR

    /home/name/public_html/sitemap

Make sure that you have your path correct. Including sitemap priority to 0.5
    Also Enable Automatic Sitemap Generation.

I wouldn't recommend having bots post.

I got the red x intermittenly for a short while, then it ended up being accepted for no apparent reason and has stayed that way.

Now getting all the urls indexed is another topic lol.

I would suggest the vbseo sitemap, it's better then the built in version for 4.x IMHO
