What are your commission percentages? I always wondered why soooo many people use Amazon because I hear Amazon give crap rates. It kinda doesn't make any sense to me why everybody wants to be a "amazon affiliate". I think there are alot of vendors out there that you can have a better relationship than with the big A.

Because Amazon is so much more trusted than Clickbank and a lot of other sites so therefore the conversion rates are usually much higher. Plus, you don't have to presell people as much when selling Amazon products because if you target the right keywords, they are already interested in the product.

    Think of it like this:

You sell a $30 eBook on Clickbank and make $20 for every sale, but you only convert at 1% (if you're lucky). Or you sell an Amazon product and make $10 for every sale, but it converts at 5%. So for every 100 people you send to the Clickbank offer, you make $20. For every 100 people you send to the Amazon product, you make $50.

Even though you make $20 per sale for the Clickbank eBook and $10 per sale on the Amazon item, you need to drive much more traffic to the Clickbank product to get the same amount of profit as the Amazon item.

People get so caught up in the actual "commission percentage" and lose focus on what really matters - the conversion rate and how much you're actually making.

    Make sense?

Well the only reason that Amazon converts better is because it's Amazon trusted brand. But it certainly doesn't mean that it's the best solution for affiliate partnerships. Clickbank stores are usually setup like trash so the conversion is down. But it's a double edged sword because Amazon may be a higher conversion but lower percentage like you said. It's like that everybody is becoming an Amazon or Ebay employee. What happened to harvesting good quality partnerships that can develop a good relationship? I mean ant any given time Amazon can be like..sorry ..your broke our TOS you get nothing! Just like Google!

That is a good point and the reason I use Amazon. However, there may be some niches that a Clickbank product will convert like crazy for... something new, different, innovative. So it is still worth keeping an eye on them.
