This is the first time I've heard that MSN is slow in indexing. I have written about How important blogs in Link Building and Indexing . There is a part there where you will surely appreciate. Blogs are usually been crawled by bots fast. So by creating a blog for that will make indexing your sites fast. I hope that helps.

In addition to that you can just post the URL in your sig and start posting. I'm sure MSN will indexed your page in max of 3 days. I have the same experience and it truly works.

I think that you go against the future, internet is bigger and bigger and the searchers want they life easier. Thay ask for people submiting sites and having an structured map (sitemaps.xml or urllist.txt) in the site so that the bot knows where to go and what to look for.

It's not against having backlinks, but to work in the same way as the searchers do.

All you do to improve your site is wellcome!!! The easier for the bot, more pages indexed in the site...

Some people swear by adding the target search engines local site search function to their website in order to get more quickly indexed. Doing so forces the engine to do some indexing to come up with actual results.

I do not know if it really works. When I have experimented with the idea on new sites, I cannot tell the difference between my site being naturally discovered and helped along.

But, it always feels better to do something rather than sit, wringing your hands, anxiously awaiting the spider's arrival.

I don't think there is a problem with indexing in MSN. Infact it is the first fast search engine (compared to Yahoo and google) to index and rank new sites.

I have 5 websites, all are listed in every major and almost every minor search engine ;) . I haven't found a SE yet that I am not listed in. This is what you do:

    1. The meta tags are important for MSN
    2. The title is also important to MSN
    3. Most important: Go to MSN and look for sites that are related to yours. If you have a golf website then type: Golf Link Exchange or Golf Resources. Use the first page of the Search in the beginning, and trade a reciprocal link with these sites (you need at least one). Once they put your link on their site, yours will be indexed within a month (usually within a week). If you can't find a golf site that will link to yours, find one that is related (maybe sports).

Once this happens, the search Engine will index all your pages if you have robots tags (yes some smaller engines still use these tags!). If you have multiple websites, put a link on your homepage from the one that is indexed. All your sites will now be indexed by MSN.

I did this with Yahoo, Ask, Lycos, All the Web, and many other small engines. This got me in every one! :)

It works, just try it you won't be disappointed. Once you get into all these search engines, advertise this on your link exchange page. You will be suprised at the sites that want to link to yours. If your pages are optimized, and you get more links, the SE's will come back many times a week to re-index.

Bottom Line: Link Exchange is the Answer! Just do it smart and don't link to banned or unrelated sites (I don't care what anyone says, this is true).

I noticed the following on the MSN submit page.

Type the URL of your homepage
MSNBot follows links from your homepage to find other pages on your site.

The search submit page is located at; search.live.com/docs/submit.aspx?FORM=SUNO

Based on that I'd say a VERY good site map placed high up on the page should help. I remember someone mentioned that the bots read from the top left (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so if you're worried design the page with that in mind.

    Good luck.

The fastest, proven way I know for getting major (and minor) search engines indexing your site is forum signatures, including MSN.

All bots spend hours crawling forums and feeding with users profiles

    Just a guess here...

Your site has 2 problems that I would suspect:

    1) no real content
    2) questionable content (free term papers)

It may be that the MSN search engine is getting more selective with what it picks up.

I don't have any proof of this, but it's an alternate theory.

I would say I get #1 for most of my sites on MSN. And 1st Page for most of the sites on Yahoo.

I think google is a different game.
