How does sitemap work for a video sharing site?

How does sitemap work for a video sharing portal? It contains huge collection of videos and pages, so this question I thought was valid.

Could we rely using the regular sitemap generators like xml-sitemaps.com for this purpose? I am slightly confused.

 

I am also looking for the answer long time ago, and didn't find one solutions for creating video sitemap for many uploaded videos.

Doesn't this say sitemaps for WP blogs? In which case will it apply commonly for all portals?

 

What did you build you site in/with? I think you will need to use a video sitemap, you could create a standard sitemap and add the videos as extra if they have static urls?

 

I have a cms site designed for me. Although I have over 70 videos online they do not show up in Google searches at all. Can I ask for a video sitemap for my site and as we upload both a flash and a windows media version of each video (brides view at work and workplaces often block flash!)? Also would that look like repeated content?

Would really appreciate guidance from you guys as my web designers don't seem to understand what I am asking for and keep telling me that we have a sitemap already. I'd like to go back to them with some solid info.

If you host the videos themselves, then A1 Sitemap Generator should be able to. But it can't handle if you host videos externally (I might solve this some day) Anyways, what's your website URL? I can take a run at it. I wouldn't mind testing against one or two websites more

you can take help of XML and you can also create your own sitmap generator

I have test scanned your website. Took a good minute. Afterwards I created a video sitemap of your website. No problems with your website since it hosts videos yourself. (You may want to edit the descriptions though. A1SG uses title/description from video page.)

video sitemap tutorial. (Basicly: just use pre-configured preset for video sitemaps, scan website, build video sitemap.) I can email you the video sitemap if you wish.
