It's not going to happen. In 6 months there are 2 PR updates. The stages in pr go like this for an example:

    pr0 1step pr1 2step pr2 4step pr3 8step pr4

Form this you can see that the steps get larger when your PR increases. Therefore you need to get to pr3 within 1 single PR update to achieve your goal. A worthy ambition, but unless you have extremely deep pockets, it isn't going to happen.

Here are a few tips (they won't help you get pr4 in 6 months but will help you get PR4 over 2 years or so).

Submit your site to 20-30 top directories
submit it to social bookmarking sites - the top ones, and as many dofollow as you can find
submit a press release to 10 of the top free PR submission services
comment on related blogs leaving a link in your URL field
exchange links with related sites (not competitors but sites that compliment yours) e.g if you sell bedside tables, you might exchange links with a site that sells bedside lamps.

    Hope this helped, good luck

    Josh

6 months is pretty much fast. In reality you can reach probably up to PR4 if you work consistently. There's no such thing as the thread above me, believe me. PR0 to PR4 in 4 weeks? nahh..

It is hard to say. PR 4 is hard to get. You can try to buy some links from websites with PR9 and PR8

I'd suggest skipping directory submissions outside of DMOZ and Yahoo. Spend a small bit of cash on backlink profile packets from the normal sources if PR is your only goal...they tend to show the biggest change in a short period of time

I made it to PR4 with about 500 link trades with a poker site. I lost it when I oversold sold text links on my homepage. But I made about 10k doing so.

I get PR3 in just 20 days and it is possible to get PR4 is easily if you follow my steps.

1- submit your URL in min 3000 web directories.
2- submit URL in major search engines
3- submit 3 articles daily in articles directories like ezinearticles.com etc
4- post comments on other blogs
5- bookmark your every post in twitter, facebook, digg, stumbleupon, delicious, reddit, google buzz, mixx etc
6- submit your blog's feed URL in feed url directories.

You will definitely get PR 4 in 6 months.

These are some good ways to get exposure for your site and some initial PR as well. I dont think these alone will make yoour site get a PR4 in six months. I dont say getting Pr4 in a span of 6 months is impossible, but you need to work really hard on the links and content.

I got PR4 for one of my sites in the 1st update, in about 2 weeks from launching it. It was a new (nondroped) domain.
Of course, this is rare, but it happens.. And by the way, I did almost no see for that site. I suppose that google liked the content, I dunno.. :)

    Hello,

I am also agree with him that do link building on high PR sites and Simple Leveraging that there is no rule of PR update I have seen many cases where pr increases from pr0 to pr3. So work hard you will get the result.

Its not a big deal if you can get few strong back links from high PR sites(PR5 or above) while working with your usual link building campaign, but ranking within a short period of time with a new domain is not an easy work.
