Is there any limitation of directory submission so tht google doesn't spam my site? can i do more than 1000 directories in a single week? From where i will get the list of directories...? Help me...i am new in SEO
You will get a number of different opinions with regards to this. As far as I am concerned there really is no "hand slapping" for building too many links if it is done THE RIGHT WAY. I have done quite a lot of directories in a week, maybe not 1,000 but a lot, and have never had negative results.
It always good for the seo point of view that you get the links variety of different source. And 1000 directories in a week according to me is not a problem. (one reason is that google will take it own time to find out the link unless you pings each and every directory link you build.)
I would be less concerned with Google and worry about the fact directory submissions are a complete and utter waste of time. Nigel
I think doing so many directories is not advisable try to do link building natural way I mean do artcle, press release, social bookmarking as well. you can get list from online and even in DP also. I know Vmoptions(dot)com for directory list.
These are not natural link building techniques. They are unnatural link building techniques where YOU are planting links to your site on other sites... just like forum sigs, directory submissions, and blog commenting. If you are submitting a link to be placed or actually placing it yourself then it's unnatural. Natural links are links placed on other sites by the WEBMASTERS of those sites (not YOU) because they stumbled onto your site somehow and thought it would be a good resource for their site's visitors. To answer the OPs question... I would venture to say that unless your link appears on the home page of a directory (which typically means PAYING for a sponsored or featured link) then directory submissions will do you VERY little good. If you'll notice on most directories, the category pages and actually directory listing VERY rarely have a visible Toolbar PR. These pages are typically either a) not indexed or b) completely devalued as a link source. So free directory submissions rarely make significant, if any, impact to rankings. Even if you submit to free 1000 directories today, 80% of them will totally ignore your request because they only process the paid requests. Of the 20% or so that actually look at your request, it might take 1-6 months before those links go live depending on how deep their "free link" queue is. Again they will ALWAYS process requests for paid links before those for free links. So you are going to get only a few links from the submissions and they will be spread out over a long period of time even if submitted on the same day. Your time could be better spent elsewhere looking for links.
Again, same with social media, I don't think that it is a natural link building technique. IMO, Google would be more concerned on the quality and the relevancy of the directory submissions you're about to do instead of the amount of submissions. One directory link coming from a relevant and specific category in dmoz weighs much heavier than a thousand directory submissions to a not so much quality directories.
dudde you can do more then 2000 if can but i am sure it will not get approved and indexed by google at same day.
You can get directory list from sites like directorycritic.com It wont be a good idea more than 500 directory submission for a single site.
i think you have wasted your time and work, whats the purpose of 1000 directory submission, you did not get 1000 back from google. it doesn't provide.. You just stop submitting your directory submission with the same content.
Nobody gave you a list of purely free submission directories, other than advice. I am also looking for some good directories. All the best for your endeavors.
