    You got it! A wide range of IP's of websites/blogs with links to your site will always be good for your rankings.
    Drawback of those free blog sites is, you never know when they will disappear and you are on their mercy. If they want close your account they can do so and your backlinks are gone. Besides of that, lots of those free blog sites are also using the beloved nofollow tag in the blog posts itself and not only in the comment fields. And as we all know, Google loves the follow links more than the nofollow links. But for a natural looking link building it is a good way. just don't use it as your only way of building backlinks.

    This is a very nice list, I have tried WPMU sites before but they seems to go out of business pretty quick and I have lost many blogs. This list seems to be better which sites that are more established and more likely to last.
