How much traffic is roughly for Alexa 100,000 rank ?

Well I know Alexa ranking doesn't mean much but still I would like to set 100k as benchmark which I wanted to cross in a month. Can anyone tell me how much it is equivalent to roghly in terms of niqe visitors ?

There seriously is no benchmark. I have a non webmaster site outside the 100,000 alexa ranking getting 5x more traffic then a webmaster site in the 50,000 range.

 

It's far too hard to judge what a certatin Alexa ranking translates into traffic. Dependant on the users who have the alexa tool bar. Any webmaster related site will have a much higher percentage of alexa tool bar users than a site that targets general traffic. This will skew the alexa results in one direction or another.

 

That is the definitive answer dcristo, and we know that is correct as we have stats to analyze the traffic

We have 1 site outside the 100K doing 5x 1 in the top 100K

You can be in the top 100,000 with much fewer daily uniques.

 

Alexa Rankings suck to the core. I recive nearly 400 uniques a day.. and my ranking is 400,000.. While a friend of mine recieves 50 uniques a day and his ranking is 300,000.

Alexa ranking is baseless and I wonder how people can rely on it to such an extent.

Alexa tip:: If you want your Alexa to shoot up, shift your domain and server to a Chinese location. That should help.

 

One of my sites ranks around 100,000 and gets about 5,000 uniques per day. The content is in Thai language, however.

The other English language site ranks a bit above 1,000,000 with sub 200 uniques.

 

.. SO.. now you know.. That alexa traffic rankings do not seem to be based on the traffic...

One of my sites gets 3,500 uniques per day and has Alexa rank 200,000.

 

if you want some exact metrics, forget about Alexa.
Their score is calôculated with 2 main variables
- reach (something like how many visitors from each million that visit the whole www reach your site) and
- number of pages of your site an average visitor visits.

Combining these variables you can have the same 100.000 alexa score with 200 unques daily if they vist lots of pages each or with 5.000 uniques if they just fetch up for a second.

I usually use alexa to get some "first idea" of the site´s traffic and reach if this site is new to me, but I would never trust the score itself.

I´ve seen couple of times with my sites that a new site short time after being indexed by alexa reaches some impressive score and later drops down even though that the real reach and number of visited pages increases over time.

 

Dont use Alexa, its crap, its very easy to manipulate the results.

it depends on traffic generated by visitors. e.g for the month june: whole traffic is 100 and your site traffic get out of 100 is 20. and u get ranked 4. and the same thing for the month july: whole traffic is 1000 and your site traffic is 20, in that case u can understand where is ur site ranked.

I agree with all of you but I think its good for a person who likes to compete his site with other sites... But ya sure Alexa cant be made as a benchmark.....

Dude. everyone here is claiming that alexa is absolutely inappropriate and unjustified. Maybe you like to live in the imaginary world.. with false representations..

On what basis can you compete, if the numbers that you see are not actually telling you the real worth of the site. If you analyse these stats, you are going to end up taking the wrong decision.

Many times, people take decisions of link exchanges and link sales on basis of this rank, which according to me is a very frustrating thing to do.

 

I totally agree with you but some belive that Alexa is best... So tell them, not me.. I am not the one in that Belief...
