If you have your username changed will this also change the username in all previous posts or only in posts made after the change?

    Thanks

Your new username appear everywhere though one can see your past (old) usernames at your user profile page under "Username History".

You can change your username once every 90 days.

    * Your username change history will display on your user profile indefinitely.
    * Your new username will display as italic for the first 90 days it's changed to let other users know it's been changed.
    * Your new username stays as your username after the 90 days.

There is a $25 dollar fee to change your user name.

Payment page: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/payments.php (Scroll to the bottom of page for name page option.)

I really don't see the point in changing names really, but if you think its worth the money then do it.

I have agree with you there. I just changed my username at warrior forum FREE of charge.

I am slightly puzzled why digitalpoint charges are so high just to change a username. Maybe it was free in the past.
You can't delete your digitalpoint account to open a new one either.
Hence i don't use digitalpoint much often now. There are plenty of other good forums to check out.

The price is high to discourage people from changing it, apparently because of the load it places on the database. It used to be not allowed at all.

Shawn posted something on why it costs $25 a while back.

(I think I read this... Don't hold me to it :)) -- He has to go through the database, manually, and pick out the string, and change it... It places a large load on it, and sometimes makes the forum unavailable for a few minutes.

Not sure if that's the reason though...
