You can get great links from commenting on other blogs in the
same market (no spam) and link back to your site.

You can submit a PR article.

You can submit to article directories.

You can submit to website directories under your category.

You can submit your RSS feed to blog/RSS directories.

You can syndicate good content with RSS.

You can exchange articles with other webmasters.

You can buy text links on related sites.

You can exchange links reciprocal links.

Have good content and others will naturally link to you after you are listed.

Give away free things like software or reports or resources on your site and people will link to you.

Create viral campaigns like video, audio, controversy and people will naturally link to you.

 

Good quality directory submissions.
Backlinks through forum posts.
Article with good quality relevant content and backlinks.
Relevant reciprocal and one way incoming links.

Really networking is the most important thing in the internet. All Internet successful projects are the product of some type of networking. I realised it to full extent when I tried to contact celebrity site webmasters for our Poster Affiliate Program. Almost all of them are either owned by one company or refer to each other. So if you are supported by at least one of them, all other webmasters will also support you.

 

what he means is to make a template for Joomla and submit it. People will use your template on their Joomla sites and this will bring links for you (since you will have a link to your site in the Joomla template)

You need to be a good programmer as well as a designer to make a good enough template, which people will like and use on their Joomla/Mambo sites.

What I'm not sure about is if this can get 300,000 links or not ?!?
