I would use it but the website that I refer to, doesn't allow promoting since it gives them a bad name.

Why would it not make a significant difference? I haven't slammed ads on craigslist, just 1 ad every 48 hours. I have seen the traffic. My opinion is I have to put a really good offer on my site, or something may be wrong with my site that I don't know about. I sell pet products, and I can put ads on the pet section under community or under services.

I have a friend that is a DeeJay (music). He gets all his jobs from craigslist ads.

In your opinion, if my site had a great product/great price, would make a significant difference? Where to advertise for free like craigslist?

I used CL this past Christmas season and was pleased with the results moving electronics, games etc. :p

I don't do nearly as well with affiliate marketing though.

As everyone knows, it is getting more and more difficult to place
    those ads.

I know someone doing $500-$1000/day from craigslist easy. In fact, we were on vacation for 10 days and he didn't post, still managed to make $5k from old ads he had posted. Don't ask me what he does, coz i won't tell you.
But, yes still lot of money to be made from craigslist.

PPl do the same old thing in craigslist that has been over saturated and gets flagged immediately. Try doing something new.

Btw, for those thinking, why not hire someone to post for you, bcos, it doesnt work, if you need something done right, post yourself.

Wow. Does your friend manually post the ads? Or does he have a software program for posting ads?

What does he sell? Software, Services, Toys??? What kind of products does he offer?

    Go ahead...you can tell me.

A lot of my clients make a good living posting on CL alone. It all depends how you use it and what your selling.

I've usually found it to be a waste of time, but it depends on what your promoting as well.

You can get traffic from Craigslist. But you have to keep posting for it to be significant. Also try Kijiji and Backpage.

It depends on what products you are advertising and how you do it. Obviously, the more unique your approach is, the more successful you'll be. The traditional CL 'methods' are definitely saturated, however, it is still possible to make money with CL... I know this because I still am :)

Simply stating - No and the reason for it is usually the less faith people (internet surfers) have of adds. They d rather believe word of mouth then some add.

It really comes down to consistency and effective ads. I talk to many people that make a killing off of it. One guy I know posts 100+ ads a day across the country in the real estate market.

People wouldn't be buying accounts and hiring posters if it wasn't effective.

I never used Craigslist to get traffic for my site mainly because the moderators are trying to cut down on spam by any means possible. With this being said its hard to post your site multiple times via craigslist without being a possible "spammer". I read in a few blogs that your account can get deleted because of it but its mostly just plain common sense if you ask me. There's other ways out there, just a Google search away.

Tried using Craigslist but seemed to me like an utter waste of time. Besides its not very useful for non-US marketers like me. Most of the traffic is in US and since it asks for a local US address, could not use it to much effect.
