a long list of search engines would be worthless and useless.
You simply need to submit it in 5 search engines -
    Google (High priority)
    Yahoo
    Bing
    Ask
    MSN

Search engines crawl the web every few weeks (or months) looking for websites to index. Here's how it works:

    * Search engines start at one website with a large number of outbound links (usually a directory)
    * They follow every link they come across, indexing each page they arrive at
    * Once a page has been indexed they follow all the links from that page
    * And so on until there are no more links to follow

Getting a backlink from a high PR site like PR6 or more than that will help your site get indexed on search engines like Google in short span of time.

I dont see any reason for submitting your site to search engines. Even your site is indexed , you will not receive any traffic from search engines , until you reach top position. So you have to do onpage optimization and offpage optimization. When you do off-page optimization(Link building), your site will receive referral traffic. Then when you have enough backlinks, you will automatically index by search engines and get better rank.

Don't worry about submitting your site to the search engines. Just build up some links and they will find your site. Trust me it's much better than submitting it.
