hi guys i have a question. I have an old template for the purpose of high CTR. My problem is every time i add a new post i get complete post on the homepage. How can i solve this? I even tried to reduce the words on homepage but still doesn't work. any help guys?
Are you talking about having the post go there twice similar to http://www.hptabletreview.com ??? where it posts up there twice using the same content?

let me take a look at your site. It can be, that the theme produce a double output. But I can this without viewing your site not solve ;-)
@mitdrissia, no worries, your problem is not a real problem, Google actually will not take care of it if your post content is original. 2-pages duplicated contents should be no problems. Moreover, your wordpress homepage is dynamic, it will be updated often. Then Google will love it. Or you can make the homepage list more post summaries. 20-30% different content is too enough to avoid duplicating content.
Have you tried using the more tag so that only an excerpt is posted on the home page? There are plenty of templates on the net that give decent CTR's- you could always trying switching templates too.

You can either use the the_excerpt() tag instead of the the_content() tag within your main loop, but it all depends on your specific template. Looku up the html code for you home and search for <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.yourblog.net/wp-content/themes/mytheme/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />.

Back up theme files Look for index.php and remove this code: <?php the_content();?> replace this code with this: <?php the_excerpt();?> Don't forget whenever you write your post, type in something in "excerpt" box as well, otherwise it would not work
Do a search on Google or from your dashboard for: homepage excerpts plugin, the one I use allows be to set the number of words you want to appear, I have mine set to 80 and I set the number of full posts to zero.
Do yourself a favor and purchase a decent theme for WordPress. Thesis provided a lot of options in terms of SEO. Though if you are less of a designer rather go for Elegant Themes or WooThemes. Both have a lot of adsense themes and themes which support adverts. If you don't know which one to pick read the review here
i uploaded an advanced excerpts plugin and still it does not work. Has this something to do with the theme? I will try and switch to another theme and see if all works fine. I hope i get this working soon.
Sounds like the one I'm using. http://www.dailyblogtips.com/homepage-excerpts-wordpress-plugin/ After you upload it and activate it go to: Settings/ Homepage Excerpts - and click on it. You'll be able to set the number of words and if you don't want full posts set it to 0. I think it's on 1 by default.
