Windows 7 acts better than the earlier versions of XP SP3 in defending the Alureon rootkit malicious programs.
In contrast, the proportion of the most popular operating system version XP SP3 is 64.8% among the infected machines, SP2 ratio is 13.6%, Vista SP2 accounts for 7.3%, RTM edition is only 6.9%. Overall, XP version accounts for 78.4% of nearly eight in proportion.

your stats are nice..without stats also, i like win 7 very much... After using win 7 for 3 months i just tried XP and found disgusting :)

Win 7 resolution, backup service, recovery procedure, drive lock, automatic IP finding etc are few services that i like most in win 7.

Isen't windows xp still the dominant OS? It will obviously have a lot more rootkit infections. Also most people on Windows 7 genrally have a newer computer, people on windows XP could have had a rootkit sitting for years.

That's right! Windows XP is the most tried and tested operating system.
I think Windows 7 has a long way to reach this target.

I still love XP on my older computer but Vista does have some great perks. Security is obviously a big concern if you go to multiple websites throughout the day, but if you use a good antivirus/firewall it shouldn't be the only reason to move to Vista.

I use Win 7 and very satisfied with it, I made a good choice to shift from Xp to win 7. :D i love its interface , simplicity and security :D. Its really secure compared to Xp in terms of rootkits etc.

I am familar with Windows XP, and don't have any plan to change it. I think most of computer users are the same with me.

I was one of those people who held onto XP for years, until a few months ago that is. After using Win7 for a while, XP seems extremely outdated, and is no where near as capable. Hopefully they continue to improve on it instead of rushing out some Windows 8 crap in the next couple of years.

Couldnt agree more,Win7 wipes the floor with XP,something I thought I would never say!.Works great with other machines/devices on the network.Installing old programs can be tricky at times but not enough stop using it and its a bit hungry on ram but overall a great o/s.

Im sorry but this is a big load of rubbish.

Windows 7 has a load more exploits than windows xp. Windows xp is a lot stronger compared to Windows 7 based on the fact it hasn't got so much shit included with it.
