Why is this article of mine ranking so high?

Hi,

I have a blog of my own and one of my blog posts is ranking number one in Google (and has been there for months) for a particular longtail search phrase in a style of "how to do this and that" (that's not the search term, just an example).

Currently that blog post is drawing search engine traffic throuhg Google around 50-100 unique views per day.

My other posts aren't doing so well at all.

I didn't thought any SEO when I wrote this article. I just wrote it "naturally" and posted it.

Now I wanna learn something here so I can replicate this and draw even more traffic to my blog: why is this article of mine is ranking so high? What kind of things usually makes the difference so that a single article can rank high for a particular search phrase?

 

It may bacause you've written it naturally and must be unique over that topic. Google just love the unique contents... Btwn, can we see that article?

 

What is it about? If its about latest trends then google loves it

 

hmmmm.Its some what doubtful for me with out seen the article it self.Its better if you could able to share the article with us.then we could able to explore that secret as a team. and would be able to achieve the rank #1 in Google.

hi, congrats for your success. i recently try to monitize my blogs and unique visitor are really matter. hope i can achieve as your article did.

 

that tricks in that way is the long term keyword for "How" How to keyword will easily can give you traffic not as much as other keyword does but it can give you traffic

 

yes this is its start with how . people like to search for something that way

 

Might be the keyword phrase you were targeting does not have too much competion. or might be you have some how unknowingly did a good onpage optimization. Can't say for sure unless you provide more details.

I guess it's impossible to say why it is ranking so well without revealing it, but I hope you understand why I'm not revealing it

Anyway, after doing a bit research I've come to this conclusion:

1. Like some of you stated, the keyword phrase I'm targeting has very low competition and yet it gets around 1500-2000 searches per month.
2. The article I wrote is indeed totally unique.
3. Other blog owner who's running a blog covering the same subject as I am put it in his blogroll so I'm getting backlinks from there.

I think these are the most essential points.

 

May be the competition is too low i guess for your keyword

Yes sometimes when you just write an article it can be the style that people like to read and if the content is good and unique you should be on a winner. Keep up your good work

probably because it's such a longtailed phrase. You've discovered a niche without much traffic, which basically means that you can write articles about it and get a lot of traffic, since its a unique category with little competition.
