But as you involve yourself in article marketing more and more the method will get you amazing results for years to come. Use of softwares will make you work more efficiently and make more money as a result.
Article marketing is great for developing backlinks. The top 3 reasons I could think article marking sucks ... Don't know how to write. Have not picked or researched a niche correctly. Not distributing articles in a way that would get them maximum exposure. There could be other reasons such as using article spinners to spin at a rate under 40%. Not properly researching LSI or keyword density for successful articles or content in that niche.
It all depends. If you are publishing updated, relevant information, then it will work as it always has. If you are just putting "500 words" on a page, then you will be wasting your time. Article marketing has been around as long as the printed page and has always worked. The problem is that many want-to-be article marketers are just re-hashing old information.
I use article marketing mostly for the backlinks which can be PR6 sites like ezinearticles and articlesbase. They help my website rank higher along with all the other high PR sites I used to backlink my site to. They are a piece of the puzzle to help my site rank higher in the SERP, but any traffic I get from the article itself, is just a bonus, but I don´t rely on that primarily.
RANT, RANT, RANT!!! It is obvious that you have a personal agenda against article marketing because you offer other kinds of SEO and marketing services. NOW, I am sure that you are well aware that one of the most popular techniques in Off-Page SEO is Article marketing. HMMMM... YOU OFFER SEO services in case you haven't noticed. On that same note, I understand you wanting to promote your services after all I too offer other marketing services, YET I can not trash a method that has been proven over and over again. Article marketing, just as with ANY other promotional method, if DONE right, IS a very effective way to promote your services. Unfortunately, just as with other methods, there are lots of unscrupulous people who have used and ABUSED article marketing. The sole purpose is to INFORM a reader. Give them valuable information regarding something or anything related to your product niche. This will make you look like an expert in the field and develops trust in the reader. It is this trust that gets you closer to a sale. Let us be honest and realistic, EVERY promotional tool works differently for everyone and for every niche. Whatever works for some does not necessarily work for others.
Article marketing is difficult and requires good articles, good spinning and manual submissions along with a lot of dedication - that is the only way I have seen results.
Yes, People publish article to other directories because they think article get traffics and back links from other sites.
I am working for someone and thay pay me to write articles for sites like ezine. I tell them that it is better to just put the content on their own blog but they have listened to so many people on the net that they think the small imidiate amount of traffic is good for them. They don't realize that a lot more people view that article than actually clicked on the provided link. We provide the site with content and they get our traffic, simple as that.
Sorry for my ignorance edpatton but what does "spinning the content" mean, I have not heard of this before.
It does bring me some earning. Not a lot but it's better than nothing. One Thing I do I build backlinks (autopilot but slow) to my articles too. By boosting my article I get a lot of link juice as well. But you can't target strong keywords. it will never work. Make your research and target long tail keywords. Joan
Based on my experience just writing the articles like you mention is not enough. You need to create backlinks to your articles and your articles serve as backlinks to your landing page (if you are using one). In a sort of pyramid way, your landing page will be getting a lot of link juice since the inlinks come from different articles on both levels. You have to mix it up by using Squidoo Lenses, Ezinearticles, wordpress blogs, combine it all with social bookmarking and RSS feed pings.
I believe there was a guy around here who was posting 20-ish articles per day and was banking around $50 from the very first days. It was quite a popular thread, I'm sure you can find it if you dig this folder a bit.
Is the $50 from ad revenue, though? I can write 20 articles and make $60 in 1 day, but it's all direct payment.
It depend on how well you can write your content to make it engaging enough to get people to click on your link, and it also depends on how well your article is optimized and the backlinking efforts for that article.
