i read somewhere that was said where doing away with ypn not sure how true it is however

The ranking algorithm of Yahoo is different from Google and most webmasters believe that unlike Google that favors links, Yahoo likes the sites with very strong on page optimization scores, like higher keyword densities.

 

Do good on page optimization . Do some back links using social newtroks , rss feeds , web 2.0 proprites . At least wait for 3-6 months as yahoo is taking quite time compared to google .

 

Tons and tons of backlinks. Yahoo favors quantity over quality.

I think search engine optimization is necessary for any website and moreover it is important that you do in right way and have patience on it to see the results as you're expecting, it doesnt matter for which search engine you're trying to get listed, it takes time for the keywords to get noticed and appear in some positions.
