Has anyone heard when Bing & Yahoo supposed to come together. I heard this last year - but I guess there some legal stuff they have to overcome.

Supposedly supposed to go through by October of this year, 2010, but since it's such a large merger it might take a bit more time.

I believe it started early this year and is slowly happening, both Yahoo and Bing have problems with their ad networks IMO so this is not really going far in terms of ROI

Yes they are going to form a merger and in the future, Yahoo would display the Bing search results on its pages and so, there would be one bigger competitor against Google.

I think Microsoft will be grown up and Yahoo will be surely die. I do not know who was a starter for the idea but he/she should get a big reward from Microsoft. This merge will help Bing grower while Yahoo may be the same or become smaller in almost aspect I could think of.

Actually Jerry Yang (former "ceo" of Y!) made the HUGE mistake of not selling to MSFT when he had the chance. He blew it and pulled the company into the toilet!

They have been working hard at the conversion to have Bing provide Yahoo!'s organic search results. It started last year. They have reorganized their entire engineering and sales departments. Yahoo! dropped it's Search Submit Program (SSP) last year in preparation where you could basically pay your way to the top of the organic results. I am sure Microsoft didn't want to implement such garbage within Bing so support for it was dropped though it brought in millions each month in revenue to Yahoo!.
