google sitemap support .html sitemap? how to build map for large site?

    i have a site have 60k page . i write a sitemap by myself. <html><head></head><body>
    <a href=bla bla>bla bla</a> ....repeated
    </body></html>

    when i submit it to google, google think it is no correct format? anyone help me? for a large site, how to create sitemap? online sitemap tool usually have limited and is too slow. thanks a lot.

    I guess 60000 pages should take about max 3 hours to scan - possibly faster, possibly slower - all depending on webserver and bandwidth. Anyways, from your example it seems you are trying to make a HTML sitemap. That's not the same as an XML sitemaps protocol sitemap.     If your site is big, then you are probably using a Content Management System. There are loads of plug-ins for different CMS and you can usually find them by searching "[CMS name] sitemap plugin download" in Google. I am using Joomla! on my site, so I found Joomap plug-in at koder.de/joomap.html. It will be easier to find a plug-in for Wordpress, I believe.

    found no mod for drupal 5.7, any suggest? no xml site map. there is one ,but not work.

    I guess it's most convenient tool for making any type of large sitemap, including html sitemaps.
