Northbridge 40mm Fan or Cooler? Which is better for cooling?

    My northbridge fan went out on my asus motherboard. I'm going to replace it and cant decide if I should use a "cooler" or another 40mm fan. Can you guys please send your advice and experiences.

    If you have experiance can you describe things like fan noise, cooling temps ect. pros and cons

    I think that please refer Exhaust fan instead of both of them.

    If your case is well ventilated, you probably won't even need a northbridge fan. Just put a big heat sink on it, and make sure some clean/cold air is flowing past it.

    I would recommend the 40mm Fan to cool your north bridge.

    I got some heat sinks to replace the northbridge fan when it went on my motherboard, but they stuck up to high and the graphics card would not go back in :(

    It all depends on your cabinet ventilation design... If more space is available for air to enter free... then don't need a North bridge fan. But it might be better you use a heat sink and fan
