    Totally depends on the niche.

Arcade traffic? Probably 10,000 visitors a day.
Legal traffic? Probably around 100 visitors a day.

Are you going to rely on organic search results for your traffic or are you going to use the keywords in a PPC ad campane? Organic search results can take a long time to build, while PPC can get rapid results but can cost a lot.

I have a feeling you'll find it a lot more difficult than you expect, but you should definitely test it out and see what happens.

I agree. Plan for it to take a long time too with organic SEO.

Organic SEO will take quite some time, unless done right. Be sure to include a video in your arsenal and post to all the major video sharing sites. It will help to speed up the process of moving up through the SEO ranks. Use YT to funnel traffic to your main site by putting the link to your site as the FIRST thing in your video description and using http colon slash slash at the beginning of the link, as it will make the link clickable. :)

Yes, first thing to consider is the niche. There are some niche that can have high number of clicks but low earnings. If your niche targeting high-paying keywords, then 1000 unique visitors per day can give you even more than $40 per day.

you need to have aroun 10000 visitor to earn that.. but most of all it depends on your niche too. if its hight paying then only 1000-1500 can generate it ;)

1000 a day is not enough, aim for 5k or even 10k

You guys clearly don't seem to understand much about marketing (or are really bad at getting conversions).

100-200 targeted visitors in the MMO niche is probably enough to get you $40 per day.

It depends on a few things such as: how much the product(s) you are selling, how well your page converts, how much targeted traffic you get. It's a tough question to answer.

I have to agree with StarCaller, it completely depends on what your site concept is and what methods you are using to get your traffic.

It's not just about traffic. You need an offer that is appealing to your target market, and a website that converts visitors into buyers. If you don't have those to components, then you could end up wasting a lot of traffic.

About a year ago, I coached a guy who got approximately 1 million visitors to his website every month, but he was only earning a few hundred dollars from that site. His conversions SUCKED. When I broke down the numbers, he was shocked. It was like a thirsty person watching water pour down the drain - never to be seen again - instead of catching it in a cup and drinking it.

With some input from me, and a bit of sweat equity on his part, he was able to tweak the site so his conversion rates - and his profits - went WAY up.

I would say, drive enough traffic to your site to see how it's converting. Tweak it, and when it's converting well, then pull out all the stops in your traffic generation efforts.

If you are talking about CPC, then it willt depends on your CPC value and the CTR
If you are talking about CPM, let say .50 CP, then you need 80k traffic
