coping content

I am new to this forum and also new to web sites in general and I have this one question for now and many in the near future.

One of my web sites I sale bird houses that other people make and I have a wholesale agreement with them. They too have a web site for their bird houses but don't do much marketing I have copied the pictures and some the content that is on their sites in order to explain about the bird houses, the descriptions are theirs and seem to fit in good with the bird houses so I just left well enough alone.

Is this what is meant by copying content and are the pictures considered copying content?

    Thanks

    Rocky

If you have their permission there is nothing wrong with using their pictures.

What most people are talking about is duplicate content, which is where you use the identical text that is from another website word-for-word. It sounds like you are not doing that but if you are just change the words and sentence structure around and you'll be fine.

I suggest that you read your own post several times.
You say : "I copied" and asks "is this what is meant"

How else would you answer your own question as YES !

If you did not write the content of your site yourself but copied it from the original site - what do you call this ??

OK, I won't roll my eyes but I am stopping just short of it ;)

you could make the article in your own words, or do a review of it and link back to the content. . .

What you are not understanding is that I didn't copy an article or a letter that someone else wrote I just copied what they said about a product they want me to market for them. And what I am wondering, is that the same and should I change the wording around, the pictures are what they are I can't do anything about that.

Copying pictures and images is considered copying content. People can end up in legal disputes over the copying of both. It sounds that you are in an agreement which grants you copying whatever material it is they have to provide without consequence.

there should be no problem if both of you under agreement. Just copy paste it without worry too much IMHO.

I do have permission the question is what do the crawlers think they don't know that I have permission to a crawler I have copied, but does that matter in this case

The pictures aren't a problem, but the crawlers won't distinguish between with permission and without in the case of content

Just put affiliate section to your affiliate site. And in your disclaimer or ToS you explain it that your content is legit.
