I have submitted my site to Google, yahoo, bing.Should I submit site to others 300 search engines as well?
Is it required to get traffic?

It's their job to find your site.
If they can not find it without your help there are 3 possibilities:
1.Search engine is not good enough for your attention
2.Your site is not good enough for anyone attention :)
    3.It's Bing :p
Better exchange few links with similar websites and all 300 search engines will find you.

Not required. Major search engines like Google, yahoo and Bing will index your site automatically without submitting in them. However, XML sitemap are really useful in getting good and fast indexing.

For your site, it is enough to submit it to Google, Yahoo and other several popular search engines. If you plan to submit to the other 300 search engines, I will have to say that it is just a waste of time!

Echoing what some others have said. If they can't find you, you are doing it wrong. Create quality content and focus on links from sites with related content and they will find you.

You might get a trickle of traffic. If it doesn't take forever to submit to the others than do it. It couldn't hurt...

Search Engines submissions no longer needed.
Almost all the engines should index your site arithmetically if you have backlinks.

I agree with digitech and all who said as digitech.

I have never submitted my sites for search engines, but still I was able to hit page 1 as low as 1 hr 25 mins.. using simple methods.

If you have backlinks and content relevant to query its easy to rank in page 1.

Its true that SE will index sites within hrs of uptime itself for sites which are rightly built.

so there is no need to submit to search engines....forever except top 3 or 5 search engines

You can do it but it is not necessary to waste your time with. How many peoples do search apart from the three major ones? I do not think it would be many, thus the submission will help a little positive impact toward your ranking in Google and the rest.

Submitting your website to every search engine is an incredibly time-consuming process. There are hundreds and hundreds of them out there - no doubt, you've come across the companies who'll submit your website to 1000 search engines for you. Search engine professionals know that the vast majority of these search engines have a very low usage rate and will drive hardly any traffic your way. In fact, it's only a handful of search engines that drive the majority of traffic from search engines to websites.

Search engines crawl the web every few weeks (or months) looking for websites to index. Here's how it works:

    1. Search engines start at one website with a large number of outbound links (usually a directory)
    2. They follow every link they come across, indexing each page they arrive at
    3. Once a page has been indexed they follow all the links from that page
    4. And so on until there are no more links to follow

Unless today is your very first day on the Internet, you might have heard that inbound links into a website are extremely important in establishing its search engine ranking. If a search engine can't find you by itself through crawling the web, then your website doesn't have any inbound links. If so, you'll never achieve a decent search engine ranking so what's the point in registering?
But if you want to get a few good links quickly then there is a solution: web directories.

Don't submit your site to other 300 search engines. Top 3 search engines are enough.
