Suggest me an Open Source Social Network Script

Can anyone suggest me a free social network script?

Which is some simple and good at looks?

Am not intrested in any Nulled Versions.

And not intrested in Dolphin too :|

One social network script i used once is the "elgg" it is one of the best open source script really try it out you will love it

 

Elgg.. Hmm i have heard of it.. But still, It is not that simple i hope.. i mean the user will have a hard time finding out things it seems.

Depends, Do you want a social site more like twitter or Facebook? Do you want it to run in Wordpress, etc. There are many questions you have to ask yourself because there are many great open source scripts out there you just have to know what your specifically looking for.

 

Well, By social Network, I mean simply Social Network.

I dont want a copy of Facebook or Twitter. Well I dont want to be like twitter at all. And You know I am not Buddypress for Wordpress.

I want a Completely Independent Open Source Script for Social Network. Well, I prefer something so simple like ORkut.

What dont you like about Buddypress for Wordpress. I was thinking about using it.

If you are looking for something totally independent you may have to have something made.

 

I would like to say: "Hey, buddy, try Diaspora", but this one will be released only
on end of summer or early autumn. As for Dolphin, you may want to give a try
after next release on Trident platform. AppleSeed/OneSocialWeb, maybe..?

That's a big question without enough information about what you want it to do.

What features are you looking for?
Social Networking is a big word that applies to many different platforms that don't all do the same thing.

So far you have been good about what you don't want (after they have been suggested) , but what do you want?

 

Social Network, By The Word Refers Social Network Itself

I need BAsically Friend Options, Group Option, Polls And Thats all the basic Stuffs. And Yeah.. I know There are pretty things More.

You can do all of that and more with Wordpress/Buddypress as well as the other suggestions made here.
Things like Polls are simple added scripts customized to fit the site. You may not find an "All in One " solution, you will have to add your own things to get all of the features that you want.

For instance, out of the box Buddypress is a great platform, but there are also thousands of plug ins that you can use to add functionality to Wordpress itself, thereby adding more functions to your over all Buddypress site (in most cases).

Usually Social Networking sites are custom coded, or a combination of tools configured to work together that make up all the functions of the site.
So I suspect that no matter what script you find, that you will still need to add some customization beyond just colors and layout to get what you want.

You can't browse through one and just say "That doesn't have what I want" you have to see if it has the core operations that you need...little stuff like polls can be added to anything.

Is that a valuable enough suggestion for you? Huh?
