How to get people to "like" your facebook fan page

So I've just created my first facebook fan page, and am now wondering how to get people to "like" it, apart form the obvious of adding a link from my site and spamming my friends

 

I have seen people spam their friends after they posted some cool stuff on there. Then once people start checking it out it kinda spreads. That is absolutely the most basic way of getting a lot of people to "like" your page. I am sure there are other ways. I think you can buy advertisement as well. Anyways, hope I helped a little bit.

i think you can ask your friends first...
Then maybe you can post a wall on the others, ask them to like.
then invite people to your page.

keep in mind, you must have a good page, so people will give the "like"
in my country, there is a lot of page that make contest or quiz to boost it

I am trying to post everyday something useful to people with that interests on my facebook fan page, but don't over do it, so people don't run away because of your spam.
So the point is they to LIKE the page and join without someone asking them to join.
also nice profile pic can help you gain few more FANS.

 

Contents are king mate! Try to post as much attractive and unique contents and keep inviting your friends. By this way they will also recommend your LIKE to their friends....

 

I won't be spamming my friends list, I'm actually a little hesitant about inviting them until there's more content there.

Good advice. I won't be going overboard on it. I've installed the networkedblogs app which pulls the feed from the site, which should be very useful.

You're right, same as any site, content is always the winner. Hoping for that snowball effect!

 

I think if you provide the right content and provide much information every body would be wishing to be a fan of your page

 

i just started a new forum that allows people to exchange free services. so you "like" somebody's facebook page and then they "like" you back. check it out in my sig

 

Ask your forum to join, give them some virtual cash or a reward like that to thank them for joining and appreciating the forum, word of mouth, promote it, have a contest, the person that refers most people to your FaceBook page then reward them with VIP status or something. Get a custom design, lowest you'll get is $5 max or I can do it for $4 pound including imag edits.

Simple, content is the king!!

You need to post something new something which force your fans to like your posts so the more they like your posts (FB fan page content) the more fans you'll get from theirs profile.

When someone likes someones status it shows in the profile of that person also it shows to all who comes in that persons friend list.

 

Just find the targeted Facebook audience those who really loves to visit your site. You will start getting Fans. If still not than check the plans I am offering in my Signature.

 

One way is to pay for Fans.
Be careful that you don't use the cheap services that give you International fans that are mostly from India.

I've used http://fbfacefan.com and had good results.

They are more expensive but they get the fans manually so you know you're getting real fans that want to be on your page.
They're also all USA fans.

You can promote your Facebook page on your website, your signature on Forums, send it to friends....

However, the main thing decides a Facebooker like your page or not is your content.

I just open Facebooks page which may care about (Online marketing for example).

And then I see if they update their news daily, there are things which are only on Facebook (Images, games...), and their fans are active on that page - I will like it.

 

i am agree with the above rply,just post some unique and useful content.post 2 or 3 post daily i think its enough and promote ur page on other social networks

You can create a tab and offer information for free such as coupons, guides, etc but keep the content hidden until they like your fan page.

I am surprised nobody mentioned a facebook ad. I launched my wife's page and we shot to 1000 fans on the page in less than one month. This was using one of the $50 facebook ad credits. After the credit was spent we are now adding one or 2 more per day.

Of course if you have a junkie page and post an ad you are wasting money. Make a good page, with good content, then create an ad using a coupon and you will grow.

 

Spread to friends, then ask them to spread to others.

(Or try some software, there must be some sort of "Fanpage-liker" lol.. )
