Actually the new Norton softwares were tweaked/upgraded so that they take much, much less memory.

Kaspersky is a little expensive I think. But it is really good to use.

I had used Kaspersky for several years and although it's a great antivirus software it slows down my PC. That was back then when I had less than 2GB RAM so I decided to switch to NOD 32. NOD32 doesn't eat up all your resources like KAV so I would choose NOD32 over KAV.
Both of them are great, but I'm fed up with KAV protection that slows down my PC.

I've been using Kaspersky for years but due to the recent false positives I've switched to Norton.
I would like to check the performance of NOD32 and BitDefendor.

I used to use Norton but its very memory hungry AV. Then I switched to Avast and I have never tried another AV. But I use spybot S & D occasionally.

Kaspersky Internet Security 20**, XP SP2 Firewall and
other means of protection as well (but it's not antiviruses).

Only KAV isn't enough, and older KIS version has specific
nuances, why I tend to use it, still, instead of newest one.

Norton is now much better as they have sorted out the system resources problem. Kapaskey is a clean and tidy peice of kit.

Why do poeple both with free virus protection? its nowehere as good as the real thing
