I have a little over 1300 followers right now... I receive some traffic from there all the time. More on some days than other.

Well, it's pretty tough task to do and it's hardly possible to do in one day.

But if you start with proper on-page optimization: stuffing your page with great content, choosing the appropriate keywords, their density and prominence and proceed with link building to other sites - you are sure to get even MORE than 1000 hits per day.

Just take your time and do all what is necessary.

 

I hear that DMOZ is not very important with Google crawl, is it right?

Try to submit many other directory than focus on DMOZ.

Social Media sites and Social Bookmarking sites can drive traffic to your site. Just know how to use them properly and wisely, otherwise, you're account will be treated as spam or worse, blocked.
