Just want to let you know guys.

Good stuff to consider when creating sites:

According to writer June Campbell, in North America colors are generally associated with different feelings or emotions:

    *

Red: excitement, strength, sex, passion, speed, danger
    *

    Blue: trust, reliability, belonging, coolness
    *

    Yellow: warmth, sunshine, cheer, happiness
    *

    Orange: playfulness, warmth, vibrant
    *

Green: nature, fresh, cool, growth, abundance
    *

    Purple: royal, spirituality, dignity
    *

    Pink: soft, sweet, nurture, security
    *

White: pure, virginal, clean, youthful, mild
    *

    Black: sophistication, elegant, seductive, mystery
    *

    Gold: prestige, expensive
    *

    Silver: prestige, cold, scientific

So it's only natural that when you design your marketing materials you should consider how the colors you choose will affect your intended audience.

This is good information and very useful. Choose colours depending on your niche e.g. Green for Health or Gold for Jewellery.

Colors help on conversion. The most powerfulll one is RED. but you have yo be carefull with it If you use it to much. as in backgroud or text you might be harming your site performance.

As jeancarlohim says, RED on your website is powerful, but you have to be careful with it. Generally, it signals "warning" or "stop". Or as raj says, "danger". These are not good signals to be sending to prospective shoppers.

It should be changed to semi-dark red. It also adds a certain elegance to a site.

I never thought about using orange. Hmmm....

Marketers often ignore this aspect. Good that you bring it out.

I've also heard dark blue background helps to make most sales? Does anyone have links to this kind of research?

Yup! Surely colors bending within websites really makes sites eye catch and useful for the visitors! but you should be keen to use effective colors according to site niche

I will have to agree with the fact that the colors you choose does effect
your buyers emotional triggers. The funny part is, is that I have a text
book that I paid over $60 explaining this in depth and I have still not
read it yet or implemented any of it!...Ugh I'm Lazy!

For instance just check out the color schemes that Amazon uses, they paid millions
of dollars testing their "Add to Cart" button.

This is true and big companies spend big money on split testing etc. Keep in mind how many visitors they have however. For your own site, find a balance. Is it worth doing all this extreme optimising when you only get a couple 1000 people visit a day?

How come red is associated with sex? Unless you are a masochist or something.

Hmm, now that I think of it, might be because of that popular tube website.

This is very interesting! I am about to create my 4th site...which will be a different color choice than the other three. I am interested to see the conversion rate for each site over the next few months. I may even test this with some sites that are in the exact same niche as well.

Launchtree launched their course last Spring/Summer & it had a good relevant chapter in their (i think you can get it free from their site).
It detailed all of the primary colours to use for the different niches.
They didn't just magic this stuff up. They had split-tested colours on a load of their sales sites.

Thanks for sharing this information, I agree, sometimes colors have it's own psychological effect that's why whenever we come up with a website, take into consideration the color that you'll gonna use.
