It's largely subjective. If you don't trust your own instincts, you could always visit Adobe's Kuler web site, and look at the color schemes that were rated highest by other users of the site. That should give you some piece of mind, knowing whatever you pick has already been well received by several people with a serious interest in color schemes.
Color scheme is depend upon you. But first see which type of site you design means if you design site for kids then kids like red, yellow etc bright color so use like that. So its depend up on you and take suggestion from your designer also.
Thanks for the advice everyone, okay so what do you think: Old version: (currently deployed: www.smftutorials.com) New version: http://www.smftutorials.com/testing/ (this is a root directory so you can see all the images, css and html etc...) I want to try and institute the newer design ASAP but I still have some kinks to work out... like making the h1 image stretch across the top in a fluid manner as well as eliminating the weird shadow behind my body div, and making one that looks better... I cant figure out how to do it like the person who was helping me did in their example so whatcha think??
Quite good. But the shadow of the boxes are not prominent. Use a better background image. Also for best and free color schemes use http://www.colourlovers.com/ ... And personally I always ask my gf for choosing the color scheme ... Here are some of the sites I have designed http://www.yourconfess.com [For a client] http://www.intechgrity.com [My Own site]!
I would look at some of your competitors, and then, if I needed to design a logo, I'd have the logo designed first, and then use that as the color scheme for the site.
it's depends upon your theme and template you are using because if your using madical or health phills site, then it should be green color...
