Can anyone with SEO knowledge please help me? I am starting to feel lost. I would be grateful for any help you guys could give me by pointing me in the right direction. I have been working on improving my SERPS since February and am losing faith. I seem to doing a lot of work on the site and my SERPS don't seem to be improving. Some of my SERPS have dropped 30+ places (compared to their highest ever position) I just need to know that I'm not making any mistakes with my SEO efforts. Here is some info and what I've done. Age Domain is showing up as 6 years old (I've had it for 2). I thought this may be relevant for any link building advice Keywords The main keywords I would like to rank for are "Photo on canvas" and "Photo to canvas". 1. Anything wrong here? Links According to: Yahoo: 210, Google webmaster tools: 85, Google Link://: 1? (Not many I know, but some are from high PR art sites and articles based on canvas prints). 2. Is this far too low? Is there a fast "White hat" way to get these numbers up? Optimization My homepage, title tags, H1 tags etc have all been optimized for the term "Photo to canvas" using IBP and (if you are familiar with IBP,) the homepage has a score of 92%. I have also been working on optimizing my other pages for different but related keywords. (In IBP, these are all optimized to around 50%. This means all other areas have been optimized for these pages except for building links to them/Social bookmarking them.) 3. Anything I have missed out? Link building I am currently writing articles myself (2-3 a week, all approved by ezines) I spin them using "TheBestSpinner", making sure they are all high quality and at least 30% unique I submit each spun version only once, to each of the top 40 directories I send each of the 40 articles to only 1 directory each. No duplicates. (Shown below, which I selected using advice found on DP) 4. Is this the best way to do it? Are these articles worth the time taken? Here is the list I submit to manually using Submiteaze (I do not use their own directories): www.thefreelibrary.com www.ezinearticles.com www.goarticles.com www.articlesbase.com www.a1articles.com www.articledashboard.com www.articlealley.com www.bharatbhasha.com www.articlemonkeys.com www.articlepool.com www.articler.com www.articlesnatch.com www.sooperarticles.com www.easyarticles.com www.linkroll.com www.freearticles.co.za www.ideamarketers.com www.articlebeach.com www.nicearticles.net www.articlecube.com www.evancarmichael.com www.article-content-king.com www.articlebiz.com www.Buzzle.com www.isnare.com www.Amazines.com www.articleclick.com www.bestsyndication.com www.ArticleCity.com www.article-buzz.com www.articlecompilation.com www.ArticleTrader.com www.SearchGuild.com www.articlesidea.com www.SearchWarp.com www.articlerich.com www.site-reference.com www.abcarticledirectory.com www.365articles.com www.articlewarehouse.com www.articlestars.com www.ArticlesLane.com 5. Is there any sites that should/should not be on this list? 6. I had some articles written and submitted for me and they seemed to be indexed really fast and boosted my SERPS up by 30+ places. Am I missing something? Is there a way to index articles faster? or am I doing something wrong? My site is www.canvasking.co.uk I would be grateful for any help you could give me guys. Many thanks in advance. Darren.
Use the complex of all seo tools for grabbing the position you want. Start from the internal optimization. then increase the amount of backlinks
Hi Pushilin... Thanks for your reply. This I am aware of, but I want to know if I am going the right way about it. Could you elaborate? What tools do you use? Many thanks. Darren.
About internal optimization: 1. try to input you site without www you will be redirected to awful link: ***/Default.asp?Redirected=Y 2. A huga javascript code at the beginning could be a barrier About backlinks building: use directories, press releases, articles. Increase links not only by your hands, but also with a help of services and programms. If you have some money for promotion: you could pay for being added into elite directories (such as botw, Hotvsnot etc.) It's just a little advice. Because full analysis needs a lot of time, that I can't spend with your site now.
Hi Pushilin, Thank you for your help. You sound like you know your stuff....What would you charge me to do a full analysis of my site inc. steps on what to do to fix the issues?
Thanks) I don't have an experience in WorldWideSeo, but I could help you with general recommendations.
A quick search on google with your targeted keywords show 12mil results. So quite a lot of competition. Therefore you will need a lot of backlink to your site. Try looking for forums related to your site and post there. Put a link in your signature or if they allow it. A link in your post. Try some social bookmarking sites. They should provide some steady backlinks. Article submission is great as long as there is a link back to your website. Directory submissions are good as well. Very simple to do but takes time. Since you have the Submiteaze software it should not be too difficult to do. Get as many links as possible, don't think that you have enough because you never will
Thanks Crovax85, There are links in my articles and I am mixing up the anchor text and pages that I link too... But is the method I am using ok?
Your first mistake is worry about what position your in on the serps. 3 months of SEO is not a very long time to see much results. SEO takes time and you should just bang it out everyday, and then in a year look at what the SERPs are doing with your information.
Hi WealthCoachPro, Thank you for your post. I am not expecting to see fantastic results straight away. The idea of this thread was to find out if I am on the right track. I just want to know that I'm not making any mistakes. Seems the best thing to do. No point waiting a year only to find out I could have improved the effectiveness of my SEO efforts by 50% just by making a few changes now. If someone says that the way I am submitting articles now is not effective, I will save myself months of effort submitting them incorrectly and make the most of my time. I have read many instances of people ranking high within 3 months for fairly competitive keywords. A year seems a long time...
A good way to get your backlinks noticed (in your case, your articles) is to put all the URL's in a list, ping them, then make them into an RSS feed using icerocket, and submit that to various feed directories. Google loves RSS feeds, and they'll notice your links soon enough.
Hi, I am willing to look into this for you in depth but I'll need the URL ... feel free to PM me (best option since I tend to reply to a lot of threads and forget what is where). I look forward to your PM.
3 months of SEO work on a site isn't really going to get you anywhere high, fast.. Well, unless of course you are doing some "Black Hat" Techniques. Which is not recommended - This could get you to the top fast, but also get you de-indexed and/or sandboxed. SO, leave that out of the question. Just keep concentrating on good unique quality content and building backlinks... Have you tried submitting a Press Release too? Everything that you posted above seems to me like you are on the right track - But I would encourage you to submit, at the very least, 20 articles per month or 10 per week... Otherwise, if your like, I submit 5 a day and I'm just about ready to submit 7-10 per day... If you would like help in building backlinks and rising to the first page of Google, let me know and I would be more than willing to help out. The exact same techniques I use to get to the first page Google, I can do for you..
Hi, Thank you. I'm not sure how to do this but I will look into it now. I just checked and all the approved articles seem to all be indexed now. Thank you again for your help.
Thanks. I will do this. I tried but I am going to have to learn some css to sort the layout out afterwards. Not sure how to do that yet.
One other thing guys... Have I done the right thing by selecting keywords with a high competition level from the start or should I have cornered the less competitive ones first?
My site has 3 URLs that go to the homepage: http://www.canvasking.co.uk http://www.canvasking.co.uk/default.asp http://www.canvasking.co.uk/Default.asp?Redirected=Y I did a test on SEOmoz and it shows the "Power" of my page is split between the top 2. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?
