I have heard and read some blog posts claiming that Google is putting less emphasis and are able to detect link wheel methods and reduce their effectiveness. Is this true?
I've heard the same. I'm sure that link wheels have been talked about enough online that Google is going after them now. Once you know what to look for, writing an algorithm to detect and devalue such links is not that hard. Of course, the more complex the wheel, the harder it is to detect. So I am sure that you can implement a variation of the idea of link wheels that involves more sites and more intricate interlinking that Google wouldn't be able to detect. But then that means maintaining and promoting even more sites... so why bother.
Link wheel is a link building strategy using the power of web 2.0 properties linking together by means of an article, images, or streaming media or a combination of all. Because web 2.0 sites are quickly indexed by Google and most of them are authority sites with page rank. And these are really effective in the SEO.
i suggest finding a good SEO expert who know the latest link wheel methods and won't get your site sandboxed. i'm not too familiar with advanced link wheels, but i think that the new thing is to create the wheel around a squidoo of hubpages post and then link that post to another one that has a wheel around it. you then link to a page on your main site through another web 2.0 post that doesn't have a wheel around it but is connected to the whole thing. it's too complicated to do on your own, unless you have time. try outsourcing it to someone who knows what they're doing, or just start building profile page backlinks
Linkwheel ineffective is still a myth. I am not sure if Google can completely detect this kind of link building yet. However, they could be devalued in a soon but may not for now. You can use them but along with other quality backlinks to be good.
There are three problems with link wheels: a) You need to build lots of links to each property on the wheel (otherwise the links are just useless) b) Some of the link juice gets diluted along the way c) You're sending a strong signal to Google that you own each site and manipulative interlinking can land you in trouble
Link wheel is a gray hat SEO strategy and I don't think Google would ever give any weight to this technique. Anyway, it is always better to put efforts where we can get long-term results. I mean, using Gray Hat SEO is also a RISK as using Black Hat SEO. So why waste our time and efforts in gray or black hat SEO, why not go for white hat SEO strategies! Good luck,
Link wheel is still effective, I have tried it to one of the site that I have optimize but after doing link wheel you should do some social bookmarking and get the RSS feeds and then ping it..
google has alwas been against link wheels, but only the ones they detect you can be smart and link in an effective way just search for a "link diagram" for linkwheels
Link wheel is pretty common SEO knowledge that links are good for sites. The more links you have, and the higher quality those links are, the higher you are going to rank in the search engines. One great way to get a ton of traffic to your websites is to build a link wheel. The link wheels build back links to your website's main page, which give your website a higher search engine ranking.
Link exchanges with other similar sites is always going to work for google. Link wheels are just to easy to detect.
Link wheel is nothing but wheel, in SEO website at focus point and all articles and press release and blogs linking to website and all these blogs and article and press release are associated to each other. Linkwheel utilized to very effective, but not anymore.
I agree with this. It is better to adopt such SEO strategies where constant results are expected, rather than getting a website in hot water (penalized). In my opinion, link wheels are not worthy enough to work on.
Link Wheels are an amazingly powerful search engine optimization strategy to help skyrocket your rankings in the search engine for your targeted keyword
And they are also amazingly powerful enough to skyrocket the chances of getting your website penalized... Links wheels strategy might be effective in past but these days, SEs are very very very smart when it comes to rank websites.
There are way too many people saying way too many different things. This seems to be a widely debated topic then? How else would you guys suggest to build backlinks? In specifics?
yes linik wheel will work good for your if you implement in proper way and channel .... i implemented link wheel for my sites and getting good results...
