1and1 hosting or Ipage Hosting?

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by sandeepdude, May 9, 2010.

    Hello Guys!

Finally,I filtered all the hosting companies based on reviews, speed and cost.

I ended up with to Hosting providers namely 1and1 Hosting and Ipage Hosting.

Can you suggest which one is better in terms of Speed ?
(I need high speed servers since some of my site scripts has to perform large queries in very small time period)

    Thanks in advance
    Sandeep

I am more inclined to go for iPage. However, since I am not yet a customer of iPage, it will be nice to hear some comments here...

Heard ipage is better, my pick would go in favour of Ipage only.

I honestly recommend you take a look at some unbiased/unpaid reviews (As, if you type in iPage reviews on Google, you get dozens and dozens of blogs posting their "great success" with them - However when you type in the term "site:webhostingtalk.com ipage" - the first link is to a page called "IPage stole $45 from me - Web Hosting Talk" ; Same goes for 1and1) at http://webhostingtalk.com .

None of them coz they are overseller.
Since your script is very resources demanding,VPS is your only choice.

I'm curious to know how did you end up filtering down to only those two providers? Reason I ask is I'm wondering if you found those providers through one of those fake web hosting reviews/ranking sites. I don't have any personal experience with either host so I couldn't give you any advice on which to go for but I do agree with what mentos said above. If you're looking for a fast server you need one that isn't crowded and at those prices i'm sure they put thousands of websites (not out of the norm) on the same server.

Among the two, i think 1and1 is better. I've had less number of negative reviews about them.

I think Even those two companies are not worth now...
After reading many threads in http://webhostingtalk.com (Thanks to RadexRichard ),I see even those two have very less positive points...

As mentos says,I think VPS is my only choice..

I am not an expert to buy unmanaged VPS But, managed VPS is too costly for me...:(

I wouldn't necessarily say you need a VPS, there are many companies out there you can give a shot who doesn't stack their servers with accounts. Why don't you give some of the following providers a try. They mainly cater to application type hosting and run very good hardware and aren't the cheapest but still cheaper than a VPS.

    rochenhost.com
    medialayer.com
    cartikahosting.com

You could then take up a cheap VPS or high-end shared hosting plan. Lots of providers around...

If you want to spend a bit more, go for a really good host like Site5.com .. don't skimp on hosting :)

Not sure what was your criteria of filtration but I have seen so many bad reviews about both of them that I lost track.

None of them. There are many reputable hosts out there that would beat both of them in terms of speed, support and reliability.

Gracias Freebies-freestuff.info
