Very fast method. If your site is www . domain . com - type in google domain without www and com, if position of your site is less that first page - welcome to sanbox

If your site has a good Google PageRank and incoming links, and it shows up in search results for some secondary search phrases, but the site is nowhere to be found for the most important searches; then it is very likely the site has been placed in the Google Sandbox.

You could check the serps ranking with the following mathematical method:

assuming your content, meta tags and anchor links matches the genre of it's title,

    example title for your page:
I want to know about sandbox that how to check site in sandbox

    search google for:

    I want to
    I want to know
    I want to know about
I want to know about sandbox
I want to know about sandbox that
I want to know about sandbox that how
I want to know about sandbox that how to
I want to know about sandbox that how to check
I want to know about sandbox that how to check site
I want to know about sandbox that how to check site in
I want to know about sandbox that how to check site in sandbox

you could add " " to specify exact matching terms or add the intitle: to your search query. Also you can mix the title words into different orders to see if your core keyword(s) are indexed :D

If you find your sites page ranked in the first results you can check google's cache
for your site to confirm the keywords .

Notice how I add 'plus one word' to the query this helps to see if the googlebots are avoiding your core keyword(s) which in this example is 'sandbox'

I've been testing a (php) serp's ranking script which I've written for this which would make this task a lot easer!

I would just use the site: www . yourdomain . com in google search. If your site doesn't show with at least a page rank 0, welcome to the sandbox my friend

I don't agree. If you don't appear in google search with site:yourdommain.com , it means you are penalty.

Okay...but more important is the solution. How to prevent or if your website is sandboxed, how to come out of it.

Here is a very simple way to see if your site is sandboxed or not:

Just copy a couple of sentences from your site into google search and enter. Now if you can't see your site even in first page for that search but can see it in top if you do the same search with quotes then that clearly means your site is sandboxed.

    I hope this helps.

Before determining if a website has been put in the Sandbox you need to find out if the entire site was dropped from Google or if it has just been ranked down for certain keyword phrases.
Start by doing a search in Google for your site. To do this type: “site:-www.yourdomain.com ” in the Google Search bar (replace “yourdomain.com” with your site URL). If Google does not return any results than most likely your entire website has been dropped by Google. If Google shows your website in the results and your website recently dropped down in keyword rankings, than you are still indexed by Google and it is likely that you were placed in the Sandbox.

How long do sites usually stay in the "sandbox", or do they stay in there until they change something that Google percieves as being wrong? Thanks.
