Sure! You can safely ingnore Google's link" operator, it's meaningless and has become worse recently. It was never intended to give you the compete run of your backlinks, only a small sample. Google will show you more backlinks in your Webmaster Tools account (a must have if you don't yet), but even that will not be a complete list, just a larger sample. Unfortunately, there is no tool that will repliably show you all your backlinks. However, Yahoo is one of the two top tools for this kind of thing. Also very useful is the new Open Site Explorer from SEOmoz -- a bit more complicated to use, but a terrific assent nevertheless. These two are the best. Enjoy!

yahoo crawl the website more frequently than google for back links that's why Google do not show the back links while yahoo can find it easily.

It's normal especially if your site is newly launched. You can only view your backlinks in google after they updates backlinks.

Your links may be nofollow in which case google won't list them

Not true, Google lists both followed and nofollow links, but it never gives you the full run of your links -- just a small sample.

Usually, it need some time before the backlinks of your sites appear in the Google search results. Don't worry about that, just wait a moment...
