google may penalize a site if the anchor text is the own domain, if you put in the title www.xxxxx.org, I mean if you give it high in many domains 20 or 30 domains?
Why would you want the anchor text from a backlink to be the domain name/url? I would prefer a keyword that the Index page is trying to rank for, as the anchor-text...
Yhea, choose a keyword, don't write your domain as the anchor text because nobody will type in search engines "www.xxxxx.com", they just type a keyword and keyphrase.
People mistake anchor text a lot. A backlink is a backlink is a backlink. Too much emphasis is placed on anchor text. Google is not stupid. They know what your site is about, no matter what you put as anchor text. No matter what you use for anchor text, google will make up its mind what your site should or should not rank for. Stephen C
Where did you get this information from? I have never heard of it, yet it does not make sense either. Your website is common to be referred with your domain name more than anchor text. It would be look like natural more than overdoing with anchor text Spam.
Google, as you said Stepehn is no fool, and know that is the site. But if you give too high in several directories and use the same word in the anchor text, you may be penalized by the word. However, I wondered why, if you add the site to directories with the anchor text of page: wwww.xxxx.com, you can register it in most directories, without specifying a word and so do not penalize her. You could also enlist in the directories with a word you do not mind you penalized, and so on seeing the links to your site, although this would be worse. As I understand, g, is not going to penalize the word of your own domain. But I'm not sure about this, so I asked.
Using your domain name as links anchor will probably not cause any sort of problems. Indeed a lot of backlinks added voluntarily could simply contain the websites names and not the business terms targeted.
I don't think you are correct here. There are many sites they use only a very few keywords in their anchor text. Just look for example Adobe and their Acrobat Reader. Their main anchor text is "click here" for the download of the free Acrobat Reader. And this not only on their own site as you probably know yourself. As long as you do not spam, like spamming in blogs or forums, etc. you shouldn't have to be afraid of getting penalized for using the same keywords in your anchor text. Cheers verdecove
I would like to courteously disagree. Anchor text leaves it in your hands to tell Google what the linked-to page is about.
I must certainly disagree. Google knows what the site is about and that is the relevancy factor. But, the importance factor comes from the links and the anchor text. If a site is about nutrition, but many link to it with "green nutrition", as far as google is concerned, the most important thing about this site is "green nutrition"... I never seen a site penalized for too much use of the same anchor text, but if you won't diverse your anchor text the importance of each incoming link will get reduces.
I dont think there is a penalty for this. Anyway, try make different anchor text if you put a lot of backlinks.
I think this deserve a SEO Bullshit award of the week ! Domain mentions are one of the real good factors that bring your branding up.
Hi, I am not clear with what you said. If my domain is " itoolsoft", and I put it in the www.itoolsoft.org, will I be penalized by google?
I think this is not right. Most of the links in genuine; ----------Article post ----------Press Release ----------News take your domain name as anchor text. Most common signature links are also this type only. They have automated software that automatically converts your URL in Link. So if you consider these things then it is very hard to believe on your statement.
