It varies a lot from country to country. And without knowing your location, it's not going to be easy for people to answer your question, I think.

If you're in the UK, this product (that's not an affiliate link) should get you through, because it contains all the questions, video clips, hazard perception tests and so on that can appear in the actual test when you take it. As long as you work through the whole thing, you'll have seen every question. This is one of the reasons why the pass-rate is nearly 90%. (But make sure you buy the current version: there was a new one out recently).

Probably the best way is to learn the local rules.

Learn and memorize all the basic local rules, such as the signboards etc...

There's always some "shortcut" here, but it's better to use your own ability to pass the driving test!

You can practice your theory test online by giving mock tests. Also concentrate more on Hazard Perception part.Usually people think this is tough compared to other tests..
DO just be confident and do your best..

    Hey Dude

you can now book yout driving test appointment online. I have booked my theory test with theory-test.co.uk

DSA theory test appointments can be booked, and subject to three clear working days notice, be changed and cancelled using our online booking service or the telephone. You can also download an application form and apply by post.

Before you can take your theory test you will need to make sure you have a valid provisional driving licence. You can apply for a provisional driving licence from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The application form (form D1) can be obtained from your local Post Office.:D
