LOL, comparing my shopping behavior to my wifes it should be far easier to market to women It's not how much you spend, its how much you save. Put twice the price on your products and then slash them to give them 50% off . I haven't seen a women that could resist a 50% off deal.
Women also like Bonuses (lots of them) and one time offers...it feels like time's running out...already , give them special deals....and a 50% off just brings up the credit card. Ask women who buy online everyday
So lets summarize. Give them a fictional 50% off and then put a time limit on it, so they don't get to think about it twice. Yep, I can see that even better. Then send them emails with new offerings every week (+ returning customer discount offer). But always keep things simple and make sure they can buy with one click only. women are more discerning shoppers than men women look for better bargains and are thus comparative shoppers, whereas men will just grab the first thing that is best fit, unless theyhave an ego issue about branding BECAUSE women are comparative shoppers, they may pick up on fake 50% drops pretty fast - amazingly enough we're not all airheaded spontaneous shoppers women shopping online are also a different breed to conventional off-line shoppers in general, and require a different approach however, I wonder if anyone downloaded this link - as a first post this smacks alot like spam - or worse...
I guess what you are saying comes down to this: For women, shopping is fun. They love to compare and they love to have the feeling of getting a good deal. So the art here is to make them feel like they got one. For men, shopping is a necessary evil, unless it comes to technology. Men love shopping for technology and can spent a whole day at that. I never said women are airheads. I am sorry if I came across like that. Overall I can tell you from my experience that (depending on what you sell) a very large portion is impulse shopping. The longer I think about a purchase, the more likely I am not to buy. So you have to make sure that someone can buy as quickly and uncomplicated as possible. According to my experience its quite easy to sell to women .Cause women gets jealous very quickly from each other . Also once they bought anything they show it to all of there friends . So its better to write your website name on product you are selling to get lot of sales in future .
Most women I know are just made 'to spend money all their life' lol So I'd agree that selling products to women is much more easier than to sell to men
Well then people better get better at selling things like car upgrades to us. I wish I could remember where I read it, but not long ago I came across a study posted about buying habits, and apparently women accounted for well more than half of auto purchases... not necessarily because they're the ones physically going in to deal with the salesperson, but because they have that much influence over their husbands. Some companies do ok with marketing them to women. Others still have this attitude that everything has to be fast and rugged to attract men... we're still completely ignored in a lot of areas. Jenn
The average familiy in my area: Women - Big SUV, drives Kids to School Men - Older Sedan, drives to work $ SUV >> $ Old Sedan So if I made SUV I'd market them to Women ;-)
