It does not need any special methods. Simply have your competitor URL and check how you check for your site.

The backlinks checking method is common for all sites, there is no other method to check the competitor's backlinks.

Use Yahoo's site explorer for a quick and easy method: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com

Alternativley you can check back links in Google, but the results are never the true picture, Google doesn't list all the back links it recognises for a site, just a selection of them, type: link:www.DOMAINNAME.com in to google.

Use Yahoo Site Explorer to get a list of all back links that a competitor has...Download it into excel and figure out which of these links are follow or no follow links and then focus on replicating your competitors strategy on the follow links.. It is a manual cumbersome process but can yield rich dividends. It also gives you great ideas in terms of what you can do to gain links for yourself.

Check on the backlinks from your competitors is part of the competitive analysis of any good SEO consultant or “expert”. Up until recently using Yahoo to research competitor backlinks was the only search engine you could do this in effectively. coach bags outlet Well, coach outlet purses now Live.com is also back in the game and showing you backlinks to websites.coach purse sale But they also have a nice trick for using keywords to narrow your search.

First thing you will need is SEOQuake (use browser firefox), then go to Yahoo’s SiteExplorer. Type in your competitor’s website url and hit “Explore URL”. Yahoo comes back with 2 sets of results. The first of results is all the pages from the website itself that Yahoo has in its index and the second is all the incoming links to the website in question.

You will get the total number of pages that Yahoo has indexed. By default it groups all the sub domains and gives you the total number. If you want to eliminate all the sub domains then simply click on the “Only this domain” link. On clicking the “inlinks” link, Yahoo will display all the incoming links to the website. This is great because now you can see exactly where your competitor is getting his or her links from. If you have SEOQuake installed you will also get to see additional information that will tell you in a glance how strong the incoming links are.

It will show indexed page not backlinks. For backlinks use link: instead of site:
