Does anyone have any experience to back up the claims that hosting can have a big affect on SEO? If so, which of the following make a differnce: Server speed Number of sites on server Location of server (country to target audience) Other sites on server (would sites with bad reputation have a negative impact on the other sites hosted there) I'm looking to move some of my sites which suffer from all of the above, and would like to know if I will see any gains.
Surly bad neighbor hood on server would be out of your control, if your bought a domain and hosted with a hosating company and the put you on the same server as a site with bad rep, it wouldnt be your fault though!
I agree, server speed is crucial. I saw my search results improve dramatically once i changed server... But wasn't able to tell if geo-targeting really change much this days...
Apart from server speed, uptime is also a main indicator. Imagine the bots arriving at your site and it's down.
Main Factors concerning SEO regarding Hosting are: - Domain Name - Server speed - Page Downloading speed - Secured or unsecured server - server doesn't contain duplicate Id's.
Server location influences search results. Maybe this will help http://www.affiliatebeginnersguide.com/search_engines/location.html
