paypal India - Here is Next Problem - Now you can not pay outside

Yeah I know that, what I'm asking is can I use my VISA Debit card to make purchases via Paypal? Has anyone tried it?

 

ask axis or hdfc - both issue credit cards. just show your bank statement and PAN - they will give you with/without fixed deposit.

 

As far as I know they ask for salary slip which I don't have since I don't work in a company. Do you really think that only back statements will be enough?

 

I dint get any such emails.
I have been able to pay all of my guys from paypal fine.

 

yup! i got a cc few months ago from hdfc and all they expected from me was to maintain good account min balance of Rs.10,000. They didnt ask FD from me.

 

I guess not! Debiting debit cards is akin to debiting your bank accounts directly.... which Paypal is not authorized to do, at least from Indian bank accounts!

I logged into Paypal yesterday and saw a policy update. And when I checked it, this 30 day withdrawl policy is in effect for South African Paypal users from May, 2010. Didn't find any reference to any Indian Paypal user in the past Policy or upcoming policy updates. So can anybody confirm, whether this is really true or not. Because the points mentioned here were exactly mentioned for South African Paypal users and the aforesaid rule comes into force from May 11, 2010 i suppose. Please recheck.

nope... but it is earning and spending your money without RBI notice...

i have axis bank's debit card varified by visa...and they are not accepting it..dont know y ....

If these rules are implemented then there should be Official update on Paypal blog.
And i request other Dp members who have got mails plz dont give tension to other users and plz dont create these rumour threads.
Wait till Paypal makes any official announcements.

Sounds like these rules would be almost impossible to implement without Paypal having to return a lot of funds of unverified customers who can only withdraw up to $500/month. And for people not to be able to spend their Paypal funds instead of withdrawing them...well, dark times ahead especially for the unverified accounts. Anyone living outside a major city will know it is nearly impossible to get a credit card in India so all those people making more than the limit would have to find another way to get their money. I sounds to me like RBI/Paypal are about to shoot themselves in the foot...or this is all just another virtual hoax. I never got an email and I withdrew funds just fine last week...let's see

 

I paid for a hosting from my paypal balance just 3-4 days ago and its worked fine for me.
