phpLD PR Updater

Discussion in 'Directories' started by Harmony, Apr 16, 2010.

Did a mass update with the PR updater Mod but as it started I noticed all the links have been changed to a -1.

I waited a few days to see if there would be a change but nope. I made sure all the files were installed correctly and it is. Anyone else had this problem?

    Hi,
Maybe your IP is banned if you use more than 3-4 times a year the mod. Best option is to disable PR for your directory.

You are much better off not using such tools. It is an invitation to problems as those automated inquiries are specifically against Google TOS and there could be repercussions. Best advice is remove the pr metric from your directory.

You could also update them manually; it takes some time but it also a good way of finding and removing dead links, redirects and changed websites.

    Thanks Brian

There is a mod available but as Swedal said, it is against Google terms, not sure if it would be a problem or not.

    Thanks Brian

It depends on what directory script you are using, the paid version of PHPld allows you to turn the show Pagerank off.

    Thanks Brian

I am using a PR updater script which is apparently not online anymore, but its behaviour is quite erratic. It will not work on some hosting setups.
