Buying Travel website using wordpress

I have an old colleague of mine that is looking to build a travel website. Below is the requirements that have been discussed so far. My developers do not like to use Wordpress so I am looking to see to find someone to do the development work on this project.

Please PM if interested and provide price, time estimation, samples of your previous work and review/testimonials.

We will provide layered PSDs for the design. http://www.womansday.com/ is an example of a design and layout she likes but says is too busy. It will be something similar to this.

Need banner ad program as all pages need to contain placeholders for Google Ads, premier banner sponsor ads, affiliate links.

1. Home page
- Featured sponsor banner ad (incorporated in header; separate from logo)
- The main section of the home page will be full of short blog articles and featured photos (each article will begin on the home page and link to an internal page for the “full story”)
- A section for 10 (rotating) stories from “Visit America’s Favorite Towns” pages.
- A section for 4-6 (rotating) travel hosts stories from “Our Travel Hosts” pages.
- A section for 4-6 (rotating) “Tours, Trips & Cruises” pages.
- A section for rotating stories/comments from “Where to Next” pages.
- A section for rotating Market Place ads.
- Maybe content rotates on refresh or new visit
- all Articles with social features

4. Visit America’s Favorite Towns
- Feature pages of America’s favorite towns and cities, to include promotional write-ups and photos of each town for visitors, vacationers and nearby communities.
- Listing of inns and hotels by town
- Listing of restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs.
- Listing of activites and attractions by town.
- Listing of events for each town.
- 50 to start and go up to 200 within a year
- Each town will have its own page
- Other listings can be featured and have own pages but not necessary
- Information won’t change very often
- There will be a featured article and other articles about each favorite town

5. Market Place
- Squares of merchant ads will be displayed on this page.
- Display ads by town, in alphabetical order (A-Z). Each ad square will also be displayed on the related “favorite towns” page.

6. Tours, Trips & Cruises
- Vacation offerings to be displayed by destination (top half of page). Vacation offers will be presented blog style as a brief intro, then link to the “full story” on another page.
- On the bottom half of the page scheduled vacation packages listed by departure date; each departure date will link to the “full story” on another page.
- Search by departure date or destination
- Listings of all vacation offerings
- Each listing has its own page with call to action (form and phone number)

7. Our Travel Hosts
- Travel host profile pages (to include profile photo), a profile feature about the travel host and their services, specialties, summary about their town, and space for other stories, comments, travel offers they wish to display.
- each has access to their city/town
- no sidebar on page
- each creates their own vacation offerings

 

I think http://www.womansday.com/ is not done by wordpress.....if you want your site looks like that...maybe wordpress is not a good choice.....

 

He said he wants the design like this... of course you could do this in WordPress.
