    your backlinks probably have decreased or you lose some of it so your PR also decreases. - this should be the reason to it .

    Page Rank is about Backlinks so when you gain a PR increase, there's more backlinks you got.
    If you got a PR decrease, you certainly loose backlinks.

    Ya this might be happened to your site, Just send reconsideration mail to Google from Google webmaster tools. But any how it will take 2 to 4 4 months to re gain the PR 4 .

    You can only regain it back if you made good quality backlinks before the next Page Rank update.

    My other site dropped a notch from PR 4 down to PR3. I don't know what went wrong because that site had all outgoing links coded with nofollow. On the good news, my other site which has a PR 0 went up to a PR 2.

    i have tried many ways to recover the PR, including resubmit sitemaps
    and there is some good trends for recovering the PR
    The site of the page is increasing

    Resubmitting sitemap doesn't make any help in regaining your PR.
    PR is all about Quality Backlinks. Make some backlinks and you will surely regain your PR back.

    No, there is no penalty on your domain but if really your website page rank drops , then it will be a critical issue , you should wait but keep working , and i found a new article directory . thanks !!

    We,, yes its very common in SEO that some times, the page rank of your site increases while some times it decreases so all you need is to focus at your activities so that you can get some very good and static page rank for the long time... :)
