Can google videos compete with Youtube?

I noticed that Youtube has link back codes for their videos, and Google doesn't.
Maybe that's the reason that Youtube grew so fast - word of mouth and link back tools.

    Can google do this?

Google Video is still sunning in Beta i guess (All there products tend to run in Beta for ages now), sometimes i can see them in India sometimes i can't, so i definitely prefer YouTube.

To beat YouTube, first they need to launch their services worldwide.

Maybe Google is keep researching on ways to earn and get more profit out of this videos on Youtube and when they do, they would implement it too to Google videos..

From what I remember, Google Videos was a Google property before they bought YouTube, and was their attempt to compete. But then they just bought YouTube. You can no longer upload to Google Videos (I think) so it's just become a search engine, collating videos from all of the video sites out there. I don't think they'll ever want to do anything within Google Video to compete with YouTube, and I imagine it's pretty much a dead zone in terms of new development work... I'd concentrate on YouTube as that's where the eyeballs are, and that's where Google is putting the most focus.

I am pretty sure, google will not take chances right now as they have lot on their plates. Youtube is good for now.

whether it is Google videos or youtube videos doesn't really matter since both are owned by the same company anyway, they can decide to implement what is in one into the other, I use youtube most the time
