It will never happen, they will say that this is nothing more than a religious persecution. The pope is actually more powerful than president Obama and many other leaders combined, with a billion followers around the world, some of those members are presidents and kings and high Nobel people and business men and the world ain't going to care about a few children getting victimize, most think it's just the way it is, sad but true.

It should have been done awhile ago but yeah nothing will happen. He's way too powerful. Britian will probably also give him diplomatic immunity.

What matters in religion is not found in a courtroom but the livingrooms of the congregation - This individual was chosen to promote already failing philosophies as their champion only to have the reality of all their misdeeds exposed in a most dramatic fashion and deservedly so. The flock of Ratzinger shall be no more and may the light shine brightly for the successors of any philosophy than what has been.

Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author......interlopers.

The Vatican, being a nation, provides the pope with immunity.

    Vatican is not a nation.
About prosecuting the pope, who cares really?
He protected paedophiles? Big deal. Who doesn't?

Not really serious, just saying who cares what he did 25 years ago?

Anyway, Vatican, created by Fascit Benito Mussolini in 1929 is a "state" with a population of 800, most of other nationalities, come on let's be real for a minute. I don't care what fools are saying, this is not a nation. So the pope is not a head of state. But still, if people want to try to arrest him, so be it. Who cares?

Reflective of the people who voted him to be their Pope - their perspective for the religion - The changes they are unwilling to accept at any cost.

Personally I don't believe in fairy tales, so the pope is a big joke to me, as are other religions and beliefs, but that's not the topic of this thread.

Unfortunately there are 1 Billion earthlings who do not agree with you.

But regardless of how long it's been, a serious crime such as pedophilia shouldn't "expire".

Of course, I know and you know they will not prosecute him. But if he was just the average American citizen with the same track record that he has, he would be sitting in Federal Court right now.

I wonder if they would arrest the pope if he's accused of say...murder?

.... Well, let's see shall we?

    - The children who were sexually assaulted
    - The families of the children who were sexually assaulted
    - The other children placed at risk by the inaction of the Pope
    - Anyone who is opposed to sickos trying to rape kids*

(*read as "everyone who isn't a sick freak".)

You think 25 years later it's OK? Do you have kids? Do you have anyone you love at ALL?

How would you feel if your kid, sister, wife, etc. were sexually abused and efforts were made to protect the person who assaulted her rather than the victim herself? (Or himself, I'm using a female example. If you have a son, please use him in this example.)

Let's focus on the Pope, shall we?

So it's a given he should be jailed and raped in the ass. OK, but with what? Now you can have fun discussing the different ways to punish such an horrible offender.

    Personally I'm out, bye!

Treat the guy as an individual- not as a religious head. prosecuting him as a religious head would mean attacking Catholicism directly. If he is really guilty then on personal grounds he should never have taken a position this high. As somebody pointed out earlier - the Pope is in fact the person wielding highest amount of power, Obama with a 50 percent approval inside United States is nothing compared to the Pope. To be honest - a crime committed 25 years ago, suppressed until now and suddenly becomes popular- leads to conclusions that somebody somewhere did have a wrong intention. I am not taking the side of the church- I myself am a Muslim. Personally it would be best if people do not go on and term the Pope anything that he is not in direct sense.

I noticed he ran a mile at the mention of Nambla too. Maybe discussing how to "punish" offenders would get him off; masochistic complex or the like.
