I have been doing some social bookmarking for my sites, and for some web 2.0 pages as well. I have noticed that, after I do like 30 bookmarks for each page, in Yahoo site explorer it would only show 2, 3 links (!!!) Is that normal? I hired a third party company for such bookmarking... Also, how many bookmarks for one web 2.0 pages are enough to produce a powerful and authority link to my site?
it takes time to show the backlinks. so if you just submitted them, might need to wait for a while. besides, you will not get backlink form every single bookmark. all depends on how many of those bookmarks get followed by search engines. don't just focus on social bookmarking for ranking. put together a link building campaign that includes wide range of methods so that you get better result
Right. All you have to do is to choose and to sort only those social bookmarking sites that easily index by search engines.
Had the same problems with backlinks from forum signatures and blog comments.. I hope I`ll get all my backlinks soon
@lordrage Yes that is normal when you do bookmarking some sites in which u did bookmarking of your pages might take some time to be crawled by a bot. Once the spider crawls then link from that site will be counted as a back-link and then it will show up in site explorer.
Social bookmarks are neither powerful not authorative given their very nature and there was some talk about them being devalued a while back which is probably true. However, they are still worth simply because the benefit of them is that they are very very easy to get/submit to meaning you can get loads in a very short amount of time (hence why they are/were devalued). Keep submitting them but also dont forget to concentrate on other traffic / link building methods too.
Well, don't really worry about the number of backlinks show, rather worry about the SE rankings. The more bookmarks you submit, the better it is. Mxx, diigo, mister wong and digg are my best choices.
it is not necessary to show all the back links for your web2.0 pages and it will take some to show book marking sites as back links to your site unless they are do follow social book marking sites. it depends on the quality of the work you do for your Web 2.0 pages, in order to show them as backlinks to your sites.
Some of the links in social bookmarking are not index. That's why your not seeing your site backlinks from social bookmarking sites.
Yes it' snormal becouse after submission to social bookmarking site your link will be on on social bookmarking site but some social bookmarking site need time to get index by search engine and after that you can able to see your link if you check
It can take some time for backlinks to show up. Not only that, but Google may see your backlinks but not have added them to the list yet. They do still count however
Social bookmark links are generally devalued so don't rely on them too much. Some are useful for quick indexing of your url, but don't typically carry alot of juice. Focus on finding ways to get high quality links.
To produce powerfull and authority link to your site bookmarking is not enough concentrate on directory submision , article submission , blog posting and blog commenting as well.
