Hi, I have an article directory that i have set a script to receive articles from Isnare and articlesUnited but am a bit worried that google might slap me with the duplicate content stick. As this article service providers (Isnare etc) post one article to many article directories, is it possible that google might slap my website as having duplicate contents and thus not index those contents or probably ban the whole site?
Duplicate pages on your site will lower your ranking. Duplicate content that's posted on other sites are okay, look at all the article directories that have the same article that's posted on other sites.
I would recommend you give a go with link building instead of worrying about this too much. I have seen many websites using contents form iSnare archive a good ranking. I did not say duplicated content do effect nothing for your site value. But you can build link for compensate over the duplicated issue.
in my opinion, duplicate content not too affect with google result. it causes from my experience i have sites that all of the content from article directories. and my sites still have high ranking. to get high ranking in google it depends your seo from on page optimization or off page optimizations
dont worry about duplicate content on 3rd party sites. you will NOT get penalized for having duplicate content on 3rd party article sites. if it was taht easy, then our competitors would submit one article to 2400 article directories and knock us out. it doesn;t work that way. you only get penalized for duplicate content on YOUR site so keep submitting articles as it is a great way of building backlinks and drive some bonus traffic to your site
You won't get penalized for duplicate content. It will only affect your authority a litle. You have to do something to enhance your ranking, like link building.
Duplicate content on your own website will cause problems. Not from third party sites as stated above. Dave
You can have as many duplicate content out there as you wish. You will not get penalized period. To make sure you get credit for those content that are in most 3rd party directories, just make sure you get a backlink pointing to the original source which is your website and Google will credit you as the original owner of those duplicate content that is on every directory you post on.
